You may read my poems everyday and think of me as Annie the wise. But, like all humans I have another side that I’m constantly working on.
Let’s face it…
I am a hound dog!
Not having much choice in the matter…
My eyes brown and bright…
With all manner of openness…
The secret in my world is velocity…
It’s all about outrunning bigger pups…
Or running with a pack of other hounds…
Always avoiding the eye-to-eye showdown.
I try to keep the hair on my back from prickling…
But sometimes it can’t be avoided…
I really don’t like little kids poking me…
Or people that make fun of my little legs.
I hate it when my butlers leave me at home alone…
Sirens make me howl…
I’m really not good at filleting fish…
I’d rather tear them apart (the insides are the best parts anyway.)
So, now you see the other side of me…
There’s a lot more, but I think you get the idea…
Like you, there’s a lot of things battering around in my head…
And yes, I drink like a dog.
There you have it. I hope you still love me.
I love you,
Annie
