I wish I could have an afternoon teatime…

I wish I could have an afternoon teatime…
I would be like a queen…
There would never be a lull in the conversation…
Because I would treat each of my guests like spun silk.

Yes, you have so many things I can never have…
You have the ability to sit, drink tea, and turn every word into art…
I just have the long wavy hair of a rock star…
And the gift of understanding every mood in the music.

You can have brilliant ideas that might change the world…
Yet so few are ever articulated…
My ideas bang around wild in my head…
Yet I can tell all creatures apart just from their sounds.

Of course, we both can be childish…,
We often play the part of the buffoon…
Mostly to make other people smile…
Isn’t that really the purpose of this game?

No, I’m not a queen…
And I will never be able to lift a teacup…
But I figured out that I can always snuggle up to someone in need…
And for me, this is true goodness.

I love you,

Annie
