I have a refuge within myself…

I have a refuge within myself…
A safe and powerful place I can go anytime day or night…
Its door is always open…
Yet, I can only enter with the attitude of a child (puppy).

It is so full of color…
Only the brightest of blues…
There is a rainbow of shades…
Bouquets of love and tenderness.

Here, I can hear the mountains speak…
Move from the natural to the unimaginable…
Let the light shine right through me…
And see the outline of a better Annie on the other side.

I enter, when I feel like a tumbling leaf…
Or when life becomes as cold as unbroken snow…
I enter, when my mind is moving so fast that it grinds me to dust…
Or when nothing seems certain.

You know, you have been given this same blessing…
Your own little heaven inside yourself…
Packed with the power of the universe…
And for this life, it is all you need.
