Jeff Shapiro

Jeffrey Mark Shapiro was born in Gloversville New York. Gloversville is a small town about 25 miles Northwest of Albany in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains on the Great Sacandaga Resevoir. Jeffrey grew up in these mountains riding mini-bikes and snowmobiles, fishing the mountain lakes and ponds and getting into the normal amount of mischief associated with a young boy growing up in the wild. He attended Mayfield Elementary and then Mayfield High School. He graduated from Mayfield High School in 1973 and attended SUNY at Morrisville and obtained his Bachelors of Business of Administration in Accounting at Texas Wesleyan University. Jeffrey's move from New York and his famous motorcycle ride to Texas is chronicled in his second bestselling novel Aaron's Ride. After graduating from Texas Wesleyan, Jeffrey received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas and then passed the CPA examination, with licenses in both The State of Texas and The State of Tennessee. Jeffrey never practiced as a CPA.

Jeffrey's professional career began as a Financial Analyst with the defense contractor General Dynamics in 1981 and then with Bell Helicopter for the next 20 years from 1983 – 2004. At Bell Jeffrey held a number of financial positions, and became President & General Manager of one of Bell's major divisions from 2000 – 2004. During this time he also received both his private and commercial helicopter licenses. Jeff left Bell and founded Dart Helicopter Services in October 2004. In six short years Dart Helicopter Services became the largest helicopter accessory company in the world. Jeffrey sold his interest in Dart in February 2011 and began a new venture Quigley Fine Wines. Quigley is the exclusive importer and distributor for over 50 wine producers world-wide, specializing in smaller vineyards of the highest quality wines. They sell their specialty wines by the case to private individuals through a sales staff located in Downtown San Diego California. Quigley wines have won a number of awards such as Gold Medals at Vin Italy for their Amarone and Barbara. In 2011 Decanter magazine rated their Barolo the eighth best in the world.

Jeffrey married Mary Katherine Fachko on June 6, 1981 and they have two children, Allison and Bradley. Allison attended Lees Mcrae college in Banner Elk, NC and received a BA in education and then she attended East Tennessee State University where she earned a MA in education. Allison currently teaches fourth grade in Limestone, Tennessee. Bradley Shapiro earned a BS and MS in mathematics at Virginia Tech and a PhD in Economics from MIT in Cambridge Massachusetts. Bradley is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago and resides there with his wife Elaine.

Jeffrey is the author of 9 books (7 published, 2 in the process of being published), including How I Found Trouble, How I Found More Trouble, How I Found Ultimate Trouble, Redeeming Joshua, Aaron's Ride, Perspectives, Introspection and The Front Porch.

Jeffrey and Mary reside in their homes in Johnson City TN and Coronado CA and travel in the Spring of each year to various wine expos and vineyards around the world.
